The Spring Season is just days away and is the perfect time to think about refreshing, cleansing lemons. Lemons are packed with nutrients, including vitamin C, B-complex vitamins, calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, and fiber. But, the acid in lemon juice can be hard on teeth enamel, so it’s my preference to dilute it with water.
I love a warm cup of lemon water the first thing in the morning and usually use a straw to avoid the teeth issue all together. The high potassium in lemons is good for heart health and brain and nerve function. It’s the best way to start a day filled with working on my new novel. Lemon water clears my head and allows inspiration to flow freely.
Lemon water also aids in digestion and helps relieve indigestion, cleanses your system by stimulating the liver and the vitamin C boosts your immune system. The antioxidants can help your skin look radiant and lemons can reduce acidity helping to create a healthy balance in your system.
“By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence.” 2 Peter 1:3, NLT
