I look forward to “Cranberry Season” every year. Cranberries are so good for your health and the tart flavor and popping texture are great for baking as well as making fresh cranberry sauce or jelly. But if it’s not currently cranberry season, just use frozen cranberries instead.

THE SIMPLE REAL FOOD INGREDIENTS
In a saucepan over medium heat, dissolve the sugar in the orange juice and a little water along with the orange zest. Stir in the cranberries and cook until the cranberries start to pop. You can help the cranberries pop by pressing them against the side of the pan with the back of your spoon.
NOTE: Organic Cane Sugar is much less processed than granulated sugar and retains a lot of its nutrients. Being organic, damaging pesticides are also eliminated. I try to use organic products whenever possible.
Remove from the heat and stir in your favorite honey. Then place the cranberry sauce in a cute jar and refrigerate. The sauce will thicken as it cools.
Serve with a healthy baked turkey dinner, including roasted sweet potatoes and carrots, simple whole-grain bread dressing with celery, onions and seasoning, and sautéed fresh asparagus.
Some people say cranberries are one of the worlds healthiest foods. They are a fantastic antioxidant and have important anti-inflammatory benefits.
