One of my favorite activities related to food photography is hunting for and collecting each special piece used as a prop in styling my food photos.
Each treasure has been selected for a specific purpose and is very precious to me, as well as valuable for my propping needs. I don’t normally cling to my possessions, but I just love my collection of “Kitchenalia” or food photography props!
COTTON KITCHEN TOWELS AND NAPKINS
I prefer colors, lots of colors! Sometimes kitchen towels can be surprisingly expensive, so I look for them at discount stores.
MY FAVORITE SPECIALTY BAKING PANS
Aren’t these pans gorgeous! My Son gave me the two amazing Bundt pans in the top left corner for my birthday last year. For a baker, specialty pans always make great gifts.
NESTED MEASURING BOWLS AND MIXING BOWLS
I love these nested bowls because they’re so, so cute. The small set of measuring bowls with the pour-spout are one of my favorites and were a gift from Hubby.
CUTTING BOARDS, BACKGROUNDS AND MORE
Natural materials like wood and marble make great backgrounds for a photo. It’s fun collecting background pieces and a variety of cutting boards.
COOKIE, MUFFIN AND CAKE PANS
Does it look like I’m a fan of the color red and anything heart-shaped? My fiction novel inspired by real life event is called “Heart Seasons,” so of course I love hearts! Red Hearts!
PLATES AND BOWLS
Everywhere I go, I’m always on the lookout for pieces that will be great for a food photo. I’m constantly planning for the next photo shoot.
CERAMIC MILK AND SUGAR CONTAINERS
These little ceramic containers were a gift from my Mom, aren’t they cute? They’re so special!
MEASURING SPOONS, CUPS AND OTHER ACCESSORIES
Food photography is one of my passions and I encourage you to pursue the desires of your heart. You never know where the path will lead!
