Today is one of those rare days when my usual inspiration and motivation levels are especially low, so I decided to take a day for myself or a “me day.”
These photos were taken about three months ago, but they look exactly like what today feels like and that tells me it’s time for some rejuvenation. I’ve been feeling a little weary and empty lately.
I live a blessed life, but, as many people do, I have a lot of responsibilities and most likely don’t take care of myself as well as I should.
My suggestion is give yourself permission to take time for you, even schedule some “me time” if you have to. Taking time for your own personal needs is essential to avoiding the effects chronic stress can have on your health.
Spend time alone, take a bath, watch a movie, read a novel, take a walk, breathe deeply, practice mindfulness, call a friend or family member you haven’t spoken to in a while, cook something special and healthy, pray or do whatever makes you feel happy.
The goal is a healthy mind, body and soul!
“Then Jesus said, ‘Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.’” Matthew 11:28, NLT
