Our lives can be filled with fierce storms and having grown up at the beach, a coastal storm is what I picture when I think of weathering a storm and then experiencing the calm on the other side.
The storm begins with the wind blowing relentlessly and like a single soul walking on the beach, they must lean into the wind to keep standing and work to protect themselves from the sharp sting of the wind-blown sand.
Our personal storms can be experienced the same way, we lean into them to stay on our feet, remain strong, keep moving forward and we attempt to protect ourselves from the stings of life.
I feel like I’ve been undergoing a “Season of Storms” for a while now, but lately the winds have begun to calm down and the sun is peeking through the clouds, and I am seeing a new season beginning to unfold before me.
Over the years I’ve come to know there is nothing to fear during these trials and I see them as an opportunity to get to know God better. I’ve learned that no storm is powerful enough to prevent God from doing his will in our lives and I’m looking forward to His plans for the future.
No one is exempt from the storms of life and having faith has gotten me through so much. If you’re searching for something to calm your fears and help you weather your storms, reach out to God, open your heart and He will be there with his love and grace.
Happy Easter!
Photos were taken by my husband during a storm in my home town on the Northern Oregon Coast.

A spiritual fiction novel inspired by real life events is available HERE.
We too are going through a stormy season Dianna– and trusting God to see us though just as he has in easier times and hard times over the years. It reminds me of the Corrie Ten Boom saying– You don’t know the worth of the anchor until you have the storm. thanks for your beautiful photos– and insightul words.

I love this post. I definitely relate to those big storms on a large scale, and feeling closer to God. I also feel, during each day, I have little storms that move in, peak, and disappear. Maybe another word for that is…anxiety. LOL
